The Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area (NCA):
Contains a number of prehistoric and historic sites, including rock art, cabins, campsites, and mines.
Supports a variety of upland and aquatic wildlife species and habitats.
All forms of land appropriation, entry, and disposal are prohibited.
With lightening igniting approximately 95% of fires and humans causing the rest, they work to extinguish an average of 85 fires a year.
